Lake Achensee - a natural jewel

The biggest Tyrolean lake has a length of 9.4 km, is located north of Jenbach and can be freely accessed from everywhere. It lies between the Rofan and the Karwendel Mountains and offers a big variety of leisure activities. The fantastic quality of its water makes it possible to see until 10 meters under the lake surface. Our holiday region comprehends the towns of Achenkirch, Maurach and Pertisau, which are located along the emerald green lake shores.

Pertisau on the east/south-east shore of the Lake Achensee will captivate you with tradition and modernity, elegant hospitality and unique natural experiences.

In Pertisau the amenities of the biggest Tyrolean lake and the beauties of the unique mountain world melt together. Pertisau is one of the best starting point for excursions and hiking tours in the biggest Tyrolean natural park, the Karwendel Alpine Park. The activity programs for mountain bikers are almost inexhaustible. If you prefer to go up-hill in a faster way you can use the Karwendel cableway.

Pertisau was the favorite hunting ground of the emperor Maximilian and an inspiring idyllic place for many noblemen and artists. During a walk through the attractive city center or along the lake promenade you will find many nice clues which tell the glorious past of this holiday region. Pertisau continues this tradition with an innovative character, e.g. at the oldest (and probably nicest) Austrian golf course.
